Chandan, Nandan’s tour guide brother, recommended that Nandan and I go to a certain restaurant to eat. The food was great. Nandan was supposed to tell the staff that he worked with Chandan. He told them this and they gave something like a 20% discount on the bill.
Later that night Nandan called Chandan to get advice about some travel issue. Chandan asked about the restaurant and Nandan told him what he paid. By now it was past midnight and we were at our hotel. Chandan called the restaurant and a representative called Nandan asking which hotel we were at. A courier came within 20 minutes and refunded all the money we paid, including the tip we left. Nandan said he felt dirty for being in the industry and I have to say that it was strange to have the owner send a person to apologize while giving a refund for excellent food and service.
