I leave for Delhi tonight.
My visas have been in order for some weeks now. The Indian Embassy was packed – it is at Aldwych near Trafalgar. They allow 1500 transactions per working day, and a lot of people get turned away. My visa will not cover the length of my stay as I booked it, so I also got a visa to go to Nepal.
The Nepali embassy was in Kensington Palace Gardens. One can tell the economic statis of a given country by its grounds here. The Russian embassy, for example, has a manicured lawn and a fleet of identical BMWs parked about. The Nepali embassy is a bit neglected…
I liked the plaque in front of the building. I would like to think that someone in an official capacity wondered what to do about the title “royal” on governmental identifiers, and then some board somewhere proposed that since the king was deposed that the word gets beaten or scratched off signs and stationary until the old stock is worn or exhausted.
I have no idea what sort of computer access I might have around Varanasi, but I would like to post pictures and journal entries more than weekly.
